The project included the sympathetic restoration of the protected 'Bishop's Palace' building on site, plus the conversion of 'The Coach House' from commercial use to a café/restaurant while retaining the Georgian features.
The full complex is designed to meet the highest standards of energy saving, to ensure a comfortable working environment whilst ensuring the latest renewable technologies are implemented.
1BQ is a transformative and sustainably focused development, and is the latest building of this grade in Limerick. Carefully designed to incorporate the LEED Gold Standard, the building is also constructed to achieve the principles of Near Zero Emissions Buildings (NZEB).
The structure provided 110,000 sq ft of office space, 34 high-end luxury apartments, a café, a restaurant, and 124 parking spaces across 3 levels. Access to the building is provided via a new entrance on Lower Cecil Street.
